Homi — rent and lease management app case study

Homi

Simplifying apartment living for tenants.

Homi — rental management app

Homie is a rental management platform designed to improve the experience of tenants after they move into an apartment.

While many property platforms focus on helping people find homes, Homie focuses on helping them manage life inside those homes, from rent payments and maintenance requests to communication with landlords and neighbours.

Homi — landlord communication before redesign

Once tenants move into a new apartment, most interactions with landlords are still handled through phone calls, WhatsApp chats, and manual processes. This often leads to delayed receipts, scattered conversations, missed rent reminders, and little visibility into maintenance requests.

The challenge was to design a simple experience that gives tenants one place to manage everything related to their apartment.

Design an intuitive tenant experience that makes everyday apartment management easier by helping users:

  1. Pay rent and receive instant receipts.
  2. Report and track maintenance requests.
  3. Communicate with landlords and neighbours.
  4. Access payment history and apartment records in one place.
Homi — tenant dashboard

Homie was designed to simplify the tenant experience by bringing everyday apartment management into one intuitive platform. The solution focuses on reducing friction, improving transparency, and making routine interactions between tenants and landlords more seamless.

Homi — onboarding, dashboard, and messaging screens

Although this is a conceptual project, the design demonstrates how a digital rental management experience can reduce friction in day-to-day apartment living by replacing scattered communication and manual processes with one organized platform.

The project also explores how thoughtful UX can build trust between tenants and landlords through transparency, clear records, and simple interactions.
